Underground pipelines are the "blood vessels" of cities and industries, undertaking the core mission of water supply, gas and energy transmission, and often becoming "hidden lesions" due to their concealment and complexity. In 2015, a group of entrepreneurs with the original aspiration of "being a pipeline doctor" officially founded Tianjin Energy Solution Technology CO., LTD. (ENST), embarking on a journey of in-depth cultivation in the field of pipeline defect treatment as a "pipeline doctor".
At the beginning of the entrepreneurship, the team firmly believed that "technology is the foundation of survival". In 2016, the authorization of the first patent and the introduction of European flexible composite hose technology injected the first technical impetus into ENST. The team not only brought back advanced technologies, but also completed full-process professional training, laying the foundation for subsequent localized innovation. At that time, the rehabilitation of underground pipelines mostly relied on traditional excavation, which was not only time-consuming and costly, but also likely to cause troubles to urban traffic and the environment. "Making pipeline rehabilitation more efficient and environmentally friendly" became the team's firmest pursuit.
In 2017, in the southern Xinjiang desert, ENST met its first crucial challenge - the DN200 crude oil transmission pipeline rehabilitation project. The harsh desert environment and complex pipeline working conditions made traditional technologies difficult to adapt. Relying on the core technologies after introduction and digestion, the team customized a rehabilitation solution and successfully completed the project, achieving a commercial "breakthrough" of the core technologies. This experience made ENST deeply realize that there is no "one-size-fits-all cure" for pipeline defects, and only "tailored treatment" can take effect. Since then, "customization" has become the core logic of ENST's technological R&D, and a diversified and precise pipeline inspection service system has emerged as the times require. Integrating four core methods including online internal inspection and CCTV inspection, the system makes hidden pipeline dangers nowhere to hide and provides a scientific basis for "diagnosis and treatment".
From deserts to cities, from industrial pipelines to municipal pipelines, ENST has never stopped its steps. In 2018, the completion of the longest single flexible composite hose liner renovation project (7.7Km) in China made the industry see the huge potential of trenchless technology. In 2019, the technical boundary was continuously expanded: flexible composite hoses were successfully applied to the trenchless rehabilitation of natural gas pipelines, and China-made products were exported to Eastern Europe, making China's pipeline technology step onto the international stage. In 2020, ENST completed the trenchless rehabilitation of the 1.2km D800 water supply main pipeline in Tangshan in only 72 hours, ensuring the smooth flow of the city's water supply lifeline. Also in this year, the enterprise was rated as a national high-tech enterprise by virtue of its strong strength, and established a wholly-owned CMA-certified pipeline inspection service company, taking a key step in the layout of the entire industrial chain.
On the road of technological innovation, ENST has always adhered to the dual-drive of "independent R&D + scenario adaptation". Aiming at the pressure resistance requirements of high-pressure oil and gas pipelines, the high safety standards of airports and wharfs, and the complex media of black and odorous water bodies, the team has polished adaptive technologies for cross-scenario working conditions, ensuring the rehabilitation effect and construction safety of the solutions even in extreme environments. In the winter of 2021, the fire pipeline rehabilitation project of a large military airport in the Central Theater Command put forward stringent requirements for technical reliability and safety. Overcoming the interference of the epidemic, ENST successfully solved the problem by virtue of customized trenchless rehabilitation technology and officially entered the field of military special pipelines. In the same year, the establishment of a flexible composite hose production base realized the closed loop of "pipe R&D-production-application". The full-process technical service closed loop, from pipeline inspection service, scheme design, pipe supply to project implementation, gradually took shape, turning the "one-stop service" from a commitment into reality.
After a decade of in-depth cultivation, fruitful achievements have been made. In 2022, ENST was rated as a Tianjin "Specialized, Refined, Featured and Novel" enterprise and a "Gazelle" enterprise, and completed the desilting and inspection of 120km pipelines in national development zones and the rehabilitation of hundreds of kilometers of pipelines in deep-water port areas. The commissioning of the second hose factory raised the production capacity to a new level. In 2023, the honor of the second prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award confirmed the strong strength of technological R&D. The completion of the first 1.05km D1000 water supply pipeline rehabilitation in China and the first large-diameter, ultra-deep and ultra-long UV curing rehabilitation in Tianjin have continuously refreshed the industry's technical benchmarks. In 2024, the acquisition of the certification from the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Well-being of the Russian Federation has further expanded the brand influence of ENST. Up to now, the cumulative investment in 8 enterprises has built a diversified and all-dimensional business ecosystem.
Today's ENST is no longer the start-up enterprise it was at the beginning: its all-range pipeline adaptation technology covers three scenarios of municipal administration, industry and special environments; the independently R&D flexible composite hoses have built a solid technical barrier; trenchless technology has shortened the construction period by 50% and reduced costs by 30%, while achieving low carbon, environmental protection and no public disturbance, and extending the pipeline service life by 15-20 years. Its strength in standard formulation (participating in compiling national standards and taking the lead in compiling local standards), service network covering more than 100 cities nationwide, and efficient transformation of industry-university-research achievements have made the business philosophy of "providing long-term value for customers with an altruistic heart" deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
In 2025, the approval of the "Postdoctoral Research Workstation" has injected new R&D momentum into ENST, and a new journey of global development has officially begun. From the southern Xinjiang desert to coastal port areas, from urban underground to military airports, from China to the Eastern European market, ENST has always adhered to the mission of "being a reliable partner in the field of pipeline defect treatment" and steadily moved forward towards the vision of "becoming a world-class expert in systematic solutions for pipeline defect treatment".
Pipelines are silent, but protection is audible. ENST's decade is a decade of technological innovation, a decade of in-depth scenario cultivation, and even a decade of fulfilling responsibilities. In the future, this "pipeline doctor" team will continue to take technology as a blade and service as a bridge, guard the smooth flow of every section of underground veins, keep the "blood vessels" of cities and industries forever vibrant, and write a splendid chapter of Chinese brands on the global stage of pipeline governance.
